**SCAM ALERT**
The scammers have been busy targeting Columbia County residents referencing missing jury duty to bank accounts being "hacked." The newest scam involves someone claiming to be a representative of your bank saying a hack has been attempted on your bank account. The scammer will ask you to remove your money from your bank and place it in Bitcoin or other electronic means that they can access. If you are unable to put the money in Bitcoin, they do have people locally that will meet you. Please do not fall victim to this scam. Banks will not notify you that a hack attempt has been made, and if you do receive a call, please go by your bank and speak with someone you trust. Your money cannot be recovered if you willingly remove it and give it to an untrustworthy person.
